Qualified comprehensive seminars conducted by Henderson Hall's Personal & Professional Development Staff, Department of Labor, Department of Veterans Affairs, and Small Business Administration.

The TRS is designed to provide accurate and relevant information and resources pertaining to benefits and entitlements available to transitioning service members while focusing on both personal and professional change. The seminar consists of the Pre-Separation Counseling Brief offered in conjunction with the Department of Labor Employment Workshop (DOLEW).

As a supplement to TRS, the following military-to-civilian tracks are offered on a monthly and quarterly basis: Accessing Higher Education, Career Technical Training and Boots to Business. This approach is designed to relay practical information that eases the transition from the Marine Corps into the civilian world.

About Boots to Business
The Entrepreneurship Track of the Transition Assistance Program
Boots to Business is the two step entrepreneurial training program offered by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) as a training track within the Department of Defense's Transition Assistance Program (TAP). The curriculum provides participants an overview of business ownership as a career vocation, an outline and knowledge on the components of a business plan, a practical exercise in opportunity recognition, and an introduction to available public and private sector resources.

Step one is the Introduction to Entrepreneurship course eligible to Servicemembers (including members of the National Guard and Reserves) and their spouses. This course is instructed by SBA and its partners who are skilled business advisors.

Step two is an eight–week online Foundations of Entrepreneurship course instructed by a consortium of professors and practioners led by the Institute for Veterans and Military Families at Syracuse University.
