Recently the Marine for Life Network and local Marine for Life (M4L) representative helped a retired Marine Colonel Russ Mantzel land a position with Booz Allen as a Strategy Consultant in Texas. Col Russ Mantzel retired in June 2018 and relocated to San Antonio, TX.
Russ applied to numerous positions with various employers over several months, including Booz Allen, but he had not made very much headway.
The M4L Representative in San Antonio connected with Russ to discuss his career goals and courses of action. The M4L Representative connected Russ with the Hill Country Metroplex Marines (a key networking entity in the San Antonio area), the USO Pathfinder, as well as various other network contacts such as the hiring managers and senior leaders for targeted organizations such as Booz Allen, Amazon, Caterpillar, Valero, and CACI.
After networking and discussions with the M4L Representative, Russ interviewed with Booz Allen in July. Near the end of the month, Booz Allen offered Col Russ a position as a Strategy Consultant for an Air Force project, at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph. This offer included his preferred location at a salary consummate with his experience and ability. Russ was very satisfied and excited and to get started the following month.
Russ is extremely pleased with the assistance he received from the M4L Network and Representative. The knowledge gained from the Marine for Life Network, enabled Russ the ability to adopt appropriate business language and attitudes while still retaining the drive and cultural excellence that distinguishes Marines.
